The UCLM (University of Castilla-La Mancha) shows a cheese with saffron spice and the progress of European project TECHeese in QUESAB 2011 (http://www.quesab.com/). The event promoted by the government of the region, to be held on 24, 25 and 26 March at the Institución Ferial de Albacete (IFAB). The main objective of this fair is to increase the presence of Manchego cheese in the international market by creating new business and opening new lines between companies of dairy sector.

During these days the UCLM will present their research in the  dairy sector, most notably cheese with saffron that will be marketed  and presented in this fair. This new range of dairy products, combined with the high quality of the traditional spices from  Castilla La-Mancha results in a collaboration of local companies which contains as a distinctive element, the saffron spice (saffron of La-Mancha) and after obtaining the patent, is being marketed successfully.

On the other hand, the Food Quality Laboratory of IDR (Institute of Regional Development) and Department of Agricultural Chemistry as a part of UCLM, explained the European project TECHeese, which aims to improve the competitiveness of the sector reducing the losses caused by microorganisms in the interior of cheeses.
